Some time ago, I had the honor of completing a very impactful interview and today, the words we shared feel more significant than ever. As I reflect on my #journey, I’m reminded of the pivotal moments when I had to stand up for myself—not just as a #woman, but as someone deserving of #respect, #love, and #truth. I longed for genuine love, but the most profound lesson I’ve learned is this: to be the best possible #mother, I had to accept that I could no longer be a “good daughter” to a #toxic parent. This kind of decision carries an unspeakable weight, a pain that many will never understand. But I choose to see it as an initiation—an initiation into my own strength, a strength that has birthed something even greater: the #resilience of my daughter. I often think about the #cycles we break as mothers. If my daughter hadn’t witnessed me standing up to my father, would she have the courage to stand up to someone in her own life? Would the cycle of toxicity continue for generations to come? The choices we make—especially as women—are never just for ourselves. They’re for our daughters, for their daughters, and for every woman who comes after us. How often do we take the time to truly #honor ourselves? As mothers, wives, and friends, we pour so much #energy into celebrating and supporting those around us—hosting beautiful parties, creating thoughtful dinners, and holding space for everyone else. But when do we do that for ourselves? I was recently talking with some incredible women about this and shared a practice I’ve started: keeping a picture of myself on my desk. During hard times, I look into my own eyes and remind myself, You’re doing a great job. Yes, this is #tough, but you’re going to get through it. You’re beautiful, and you are worthy of #abundance. Today, I took a moment to honor myself. With @malieokalaniurrutia and @sacredwomanschool and all the beautiful women plugged into this network, I surrounded myself with beautiful flowers and their fragrances, the sacred spiral of the womb, and my favorite #crystal —one that reflects both the light and the dark within me. I sat with all the abundance I’ve brought into my life and let myself fully embrace this truth: This is me. I honor myself above all else so that I can continue to pour #love into those around me.
